"Covid 1984" - A term coined by Unite for Freedom demonstrators and a most likely nod to George Orwell's novel, Nineteen Eighty-Four, - a dystopian fiction in which a society is governed by constant surveillance and fed disinformation and propaganda.
A movement sparked from anti-lockdown protests - the Unite for Freedom movement began in 2020 in the early stages of the Coronavirus pandemic and has grown to encompass all restrictions surrounding the pandemic including manditory vaccinations, child vaccinations, and covid passports.
Protests have been fairly regular and vary in size and more often than not lead to scuffles with police, and in some cases, attempted occupation of buildings.
